Mind in West Cumbria is a charitable organisation that supports people across West Cumbria with experience of mental distress and learning disabilities.

Maryport Support Group
Our Maryport Support Group meets every Monday at The Settlement, High Street, Maryport, from 10am to 2pm. Please come along to meet others and find support. Joyce and Kelly will also be happy to share information and advice on a range of mental health issues.
MOSS Community Befriending Project -
Our Moving on Support Service is now up and running. If you are feeling stuck and isolated and would like to make a change in your life, we can offer one to one befriending to help you towards your goal. Please contact Nicola Lynch on 07763 152529 or 01900 66518.
Outthere - in West Cumbria
Being physically active improves mental and physical wellbeing, but you might have been finding it difficult to motivate yourself? Then come and join us for weekly activities outdoors including cycling, canoeing, swimming, beachcombing, hill walking and mountain climbing. Feel like a challenge? Then get involved! Mansion Gardens
We are creating an organic allotment and sensory garden at Mansion House Gardens in Workington. Therapeutic activity for both mind and body. If you would like to find out more contact Tim Jones on 01900 66518, or simply come along to the garden on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10am and 2pm.

What we do
Community Wellbeing Centre
We offer one to one support planning using the Recovery Star approach. Open sessions, groups and informal talks by members of the local community. We also have a Health Trainer available to help you make small positive changes to your life and routines. Please call 01900 66518 and we'll be happy to send you a copy of our 3 month booklet.
Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm at 12 High Street, Workington.
Counselling
With trained and experienced volunteer counsellors. To self-refer, please call 01900 66518.
Information, Advice and Resources
Our Information, Advice and Resource Room has up to date information on all aspects of mental health and resources available in the local community. We are happy to answer enquiries by telephone, email, or come down and see us.
Tuesday Club
A thriving weekly social club in Workington Carnegie Theatre, for people with learning disabilities. Tuesdays 7pm to 9pm.
Advocacy
Community based advocacy service supporting individuals in the community in securing their rights, accessing appropriate treatment and support and more. Contact Clare Burgess on 01900 66518.
Service User Forum
Monthly planning meetings held at Mind, 12 High Street, Workington. Come and have your say and help us plan future services.
Fundraising Group
Do you like raising money for a good cause? Come and help organise fundraising events. The group meets monthly and we would value your input. All the money we raise goes towards developing our services in the local area.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have direct experience of mental ill health, as we see volunteering as a positive step and we would like to support you.
